CATEGORIES
This edition of the festival consists of the following categories:
OFFICIAL SELECTION
Competitive section. The shortfilms presented will be fiction or animation, original or adaptation of a free theme.
OFFICIAL STUDENT SELECTION
Competitive section. The shortfilms presented will be fiction or animation, original or adaptation of a free theme made by students. To participate in this category, a document must be attached that proves that the director/author/producer was a student when the short film was made.
ÀNIMA ( ANIMATED SHORTFILMS SELECTION)
Competitive section. The shortfilms presented will be animated, original or adaptation of a free theme. In this section shortfilmss are admitted from 2020 on.
ADVENTURE SHORTFILMS AND FAN FILMS SELECTION
Competitive section. The short films presented will be fiction or animation, original or adaptation, and their theme will be of the adventure or fan film genre. In this section shortfilms are admitted from 2021 on.
LA TERRETA SELECTION (Valencian shortfilms)
Competitive section. The short films presented will be fiction or animation, original or adaptation of a free theme where the director is Valencian or 80% of the accredited team is Valencian or they are shot entirely in the Valencian Community. In this section shortfilms are admitted from 2021 on. To participate in this category, a document must be attached that proves that the director/author/producer/team is Valencian or that the short film is shot in the Valencian Community.
MUSIC VIDEO SELECTION
Competitive section. Free-themed music video and international scope.
FASHION FILMS SELECTION
Competitive section. Free themed fashion films and international scope.
KIDS SELECTION
Non competitive section. Shortfilms of kids target and international scope.
The organization reserves the right to modify the categories into which the festival is divided.
AWARDS
The prizes awarded by the jury and by the public attending the screenings of the festival’s competitive categories are the following ones:
- Butoni Award for Best Shortfilm (€300 and Trophy)
- Butoni Award for the best student shortfilm (€300 and Trophy)
- Butoni Award for Best Music Video (€100 and Trophy)
- Butoni Award for Best Animated Shortfilm (Trophy)
- Butoni Award for Best Adventure Shortfilm or Fan Film (Trophy)
- Butoni Award Best Valencian Shortfilm (Trophy and 200€)
- Butoni Award for Best Audience Shortfilm (Trophy)
- Butoni Award for Best Director. (Trophy)
- Butoni Award for Best Student Director (Trophy)
- Butoni Award for Best Screenplay. (Trophy)
- Butoni Award for Best Cinematography. (Trophy)
- Butoni Award for Best Actor. (Trophy)
- Butoni Award for Best Actress. (Trophy)
- Butoni Award Best Production Design (Trophy)
- Butoni Award Best Makeup and Hairstyling (Trophy)
- Butoni Award for Best Sound (Trophy)
- Butoni Award for Best Visual Effects (Trophy)
- Butoni Award Best Original Score (Trophy)
- Butoni Award Best Fashion Film (Trophy 100€r)
The economic contributions are VAT included. The economic amount of the prizes will be subject to the withholdings determined by current legislation at the time of payment by the Festival Organization and will be understood, in any case, included in the economic allocation of said prizes. The awards of all the categories may be declared null and void if it is necessary.
The prizes may be sponsored by companies, public or private entities.
Selection payment.
The organization will pay all the short films selected in the categories: OFFICIAL SELECTION and OFFICIAL STUDENT SELECTION the amount of €20 (VAT included) as payment for selection. This payment will be made to the producer of the short film. The organization reserves the right to increase or decrease the amount to be paid, but undertakes that there will be a selection payment.
